Shandon

One of downtown Columbia’s most popular neighborhoods, Shandon offers tree-lined streets, sidewalks, and friendly neighbors.

Homes in Shandon are walkable to shops and restaurants along Devine Street, the Rosewood Drive corridor, and even Millwood Avenue (think Crave!). Regular neighborhood events include movies in the park as well as the famous Shandon Turkey Trot, a Thanksgiving Day 5K enjoyed by many before settling down to a Thanksgiving meal.

Parks in Shandon include Emily Douglas Park, located at the intersection of King and Wheat Streets, which features an amphitheater, a playground, and a dog park; and Sims Park, which offers age-appropriate play equipment, a basketball court, and covered picnic tables.

Morning coffee at Azaela, Drip, or Starbucks is just a stroll away. Favorite restaurants within walking distance of Shandon include Il Giorgiones, Baan Sawaan, Mediterranean Tea Room, Za’s, Cantina 76, Gourmet Shop, Saluda’s, and Backstreet Grille. Delightful local bakeries include Silver Spoon and Ally and Eloise Bakeshop.
